A cat grows fatter and fatter as he eats everyone he meets. The collection includes fifty-seven photostats of studies, fifteen ink illustrations with separations (all but one with pasteup), one sheet text proof pasteup, one sheet layout.

Jack Kent wrote and illustrated about 40 children's books during his career and illustrated nearly 20 by other authors. He began his career as a free-lance commercial artist, created a comic strip "King Aroo" which was syndicated from 1950 to 1965.
